SHIPPING UPDATES

We continue to ship worldwide using FedEx or DHL.

Japan Post standard continues to be suspended to many countries worldwide. Please confirm by visiting the Japan Post website here, to determine whether or not we will be able to ship to you via Japan Post.  Please note: if you selected Japan Post as your shipping method and the postal services are suspended, we will NOT be able to ship the package out to you until the shipping services resume.

June 2022

Update: For shipments to the USA and CANADA

Effective immediately, when selecting your shipping method we will select the shipping company (FedEx OR DHL) that is most cost effective.  Shipping rates are continuously fluctuating and we have been absorbing the extra shipping costs these past several months hoping that the rates would stabilize a bit.

Unfortunately, with shipping costs being very fluid, we are no longer able to absorb these added costs.  If you have a shipping company preference: FedEx OR DHL, please email us with your order number so that we can make a note of it.

April 2022

There are many new countries and areas where Japan Post has suspended its services, including many countries in the EU and UK.

Please refer to Japan Post's website here

If you have any questions regarding your package, please feel free to email hello@thestationeryselection.com

Thank you!

-------------------------

Updated December 2020 (Canada added to list of countries we are not able to ship to via tracking and insurance).

Japan Post Mail suspension continues to USA, Australia, Canada and many other countries. Depending on where you live, we are NOT able to ship out via Japan Post unless it is a smaller, flat item. Please read further for more details.

For stationery boxes:

We will continue to ship packages via DHL to USA and Australian customers that have purchased 2 or more stationery boxes with no additional charge (the standard shipping rates still apply).  If you are an active subscriber, we have been shipping every other month, 2 months worth of stationery boxes via DHL at no additional cost to the customer (ie. a free DHL upgrade from standard shipping). If you would like to upgrade to DHL, but only have purchased 1 stationery box, you can purchase a DHL shipping add-on here

If you have purchased items other than a stationery box and would like to ship via DHL or FedEx , please email for further details: Hello@thestationeryselection.com

For other stationery items:

FOR US + AUS + CAD residents: If the items you purchase are able to fit in a flat envelope (ie. stickers, clear stamp set), then we have been having success with shipping those out.

A friendly reminder: By purchasing this DHL Add-on, you agree to and accept the responsibility for covering any additional costs that may be incurred by your customs department.  DHL Insurance is not included.

To check if we are able to ship to your country, please visit Japan Post's website here. We are only able to ship out if it "Parcel - Air" is checked off. SAL is also possible, depending on the location. If you are not sure, or if you notice that your order has not yet been shipped, please do not hesitate to reach out: hello@thestationeryselection.com.

Thank you!
Mits

Hello,

I hope this email finds you well.

I am here today to bring you some good news!  We have confirmed DHL as an alternative shipping option for the following countries: United States of America, Australia and most countries located in Asia.  (If you are not located in one of these countries, but would still like to use DHL, please read bullet point 4. below).

I have created the flow sheet to accompany the explanation, please take a look below.

This message is rather long, so I have broken it up into headings in bold lettering.

1. Customers that have 2 or more stationery boxes in our possession (Eg. 1 x April box, 1 x June box)

This group is our current priority and we are working towards packing and shipping these boxes out first. If you are located in: Asia, Australia, or USA and have at least 2 boxes in our possession, we will be using DHL with no additional cost to you. If you do not wish to use DHL and would rather wait for the Japan Post regular mail suspension to be lifted, please email me prior to May 30, 2020. If you live in other parts of the world, we can ship your order via DHL (with additional costs), but please be aware of possible custom charges that may be incurred.  Please email hello@thestationeryselection.com and we can set up DHL for you.

2. Mail Suspension

There continues to be mail suspension in selected countries*.  For the most up to date information, please refer to Japan Post’s website: https://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/information/2020/0423_01_en.html

3. New online web shop products added

We have added some new items to our online shop.  If you purchase any items prior to May 30 and you currently have an outstanding order with us, we will be shipping out all orders together. (This is especially beneficial if you are going to be using the DHL shipping).  We are only shipping out to those countries that do not have the mail suspension. Expected shipping dates: early - mid June, 2020.

4. DHL Shipping Add-ON

If you do not wish to wait for Japan Post’s mail suspension to be lifted and can take responsibility for the possible costs that may be incurred by your local customs office, we can certainly ship your items to you via DHL for an additional cost. Please feel free to email for more info: hello@thestationeryselection.com

We are currently in the middle of packing up your June boxes and hope to start shipping out sometime in early June and will finish shipping out by mid-June. We will only be shipping to those countries that do not have the mail suspension. If you would rather wait for us to ship, please email prior to May 30, 2020 (hello@thestationeryselection.com)

For the most up to date information regarding mail suspension, please refer to Japan Post’s website: https://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/information/2020/0423_01_en.html

May 12, 2020

Hello,

I hope you are doing well.

I wanted to share with you an update and keep the communication open regarding the shipping delays with Japan Post.

Many boxes have been returned back to us unfortunately. I have already emailed customers with returned packages, so please double check your junk mail/spam folder.

I am hoping to open up for June's box and new subscription spots sometime later this week, but I want to make sure that you are aware: if your country is listed on Japan Post's mail suspension list, we WILL NOT be able to ship these boxes out to you until the mail suspension has been lifted; this may take up to several months.  If your country is not on the mail suspended list, we will be shipping out the packages via Japan Post by mid-June, but please understand that there will be significant delays due to COVID-19.

In the meantime, please note we are working behind the scenes trying to figure out a reasonable shipping alternative and will keep you posted once we find something that works best for our current situation.

If there are any questions, I am always here to help! Please email me: hello@thestationeryselection.com

Thank you for your support during this difficult time,

Mits

Hello, Happy almost weekend!
Just a quick update here to let you know that the returned boxes have finally arrived. They are at a different location, but we will we keeping them safely with us. I need to view the boxes one by one via photo (due to remote work/social distancing), but I will be sending out an email once I return back to office on May 7th. I know it is a huge bummer and a disappointment that it is back with us, but I have decided to look at it in a positive way; to appreciate the hard work of the postal service...because of them, the boxes have been safely returned to us without getting lost :))

I hope you are doing well, I hope you are staying safe!
Wishing you a lovely weekend,
Mits

April 24, 2020

Hello

I hope you are doing well.

There has been an update by Japan Post, unfortunately only in Japanese at this time, but please read the automated English translated version here:

"We have just been informed of the significant delay in the delivery of international mail to the United States due to the flight reduction and suspension of aircraft due to the global spread of new coronavirus infections.

We have made every possible effort to ship promptly in cooperation with airlines and the United States Postal Service. However, due to the drastic reduction in the number of flights and suspension of aircraft, the shipping capacity has decreased significantly. I have no idea what to send for some international mail.

Therefore, from April 24 (Friday) onwards, we will temporarily stop accepting the following international mail items * addressed to the United States.

...Substantial delays are expected for postal items that we continue to accept.

The items of mail we have accepted up to now will be shipped sequentially by the remaining air mail. However, for example, for EMS items of mail, it may take up to 4 months to ship the items with the current shipping volume."

For more information, please visit Japan Post's website (In Japanese):

We are all trying our best during this difficult time and greatly appreciate your patience and support.. please stay safe, please stay positive,

Konnichiwa from Tokyo, Japan.  How are you holding up?

I have been trying to hold the fort and keep the peace in the home front with my two little kiddos.  Things have been challenging to say the least, but I know we are all battling our own struggles. I am very thankful to you for sticking by and for your support during this difficult time.

I thought I would update you on our current situation here with the subscription box.

As much as I would like to continue, we have decided it would be best if we skip at least a month.  To all our current subscribers, there is nothing that needs to be done on your end.  The current upcoming bill payment on April 20th will automatically be skipped to May 20th.  We will of course have to re-assess in the coming weeks, and we hope you stick by.

Regarding our online shop: It will remain open, but please be aware and understanding of the significant delays in shipping.

As always, I am here to help you if you have any questions. Please feel free to reach out anytime at: hello@thestationeryselection.com

Please stay safe, stay strong, and stay positive!

Much love from Japan,

Mits & Family
