The Stationery Selection Blog Post – Kenry Chan – Jan 2020

My first collection of postcards

I would like to introduce my first ever-created postcard collection – Sweets at Between Haru – which consists of 4 lovely double-sided postcards printed on cotton paper. I originally produced them to be exhibited at a little collaboration pop-up with a Hong Kong’s local western calligrapher and they turned out to be so nice that we decided to put them on sale.

As you may tell from the first photo of this post displayed the original hand-draft (on left) and the final product (on right) which was included in January’s box, have slight difference.  All of these four postcards were created in the same way – first drawn/written by hands, then scanned to digital file, rearranged and retouched, finally get them printed!

The desserts selected are customers’ popular choices at my little café located in Hong Kong. They are respectively earl grey madeleine, earl grey chiffon cake, earl grey fresh fig frangipane and warabimochi square pound cake. (You can tell how much our customers love earl grey-infused desserts!)

Besides my postcard, I’m so surprised to see another original creation of a talented lady @lifeat30sth – a rubber stamp dedicated to The Stationery Selection in this box And it matches so well when stamping with the Artnic ink pad (25 Cardinal) from this box as well.

This is truly a box full of Japanese tradition-related and aesthetic surprises – celebrating the beginning of the year of Rat.
